Hi friends! Thanks for stopping by! I'm Emily - a 27 year old wife, former teacher, and new mom to our sweet Marlowe Eloise.
I grew up in Southern California in a suburb just an hour Northeast of Los Angeles. I met my husband, Kyle, in high school when he was a freshman, and I was a sophomore. We were friends for a couple of years before falling crazy in love my senior year. He was the ultimate jock mixed with a total AP/Honors nerd and I just couldn't resist his sense of humor and kindness. Fast forward to college where we went to school an hour apart, me at UC Irvine, and Kyle at UC Riverside. Instead of growing apart, we grew together and he proposed while we were still in school, the summer of 2010. We were married a year later on July 17, 2011 a month after our college graduation.

10 days after our wedding we had to be in Charlotte, North Carolina for Kyle's new job. So we packed our bags, and road tripped out to NC where we would live for the next 5 years. During that time, I worked as a teacher in a Title 1 school, we flipped our first house, I dove into photography and started a business, I battled with Ulcerative Colitis, and after a long journey I found out I was pregnant in November of 2015.
Immediately after finding out I was pregnant, I knew our time in Charlotte was over, and that we needed to move back to SoCal. We sold our house and after my school year was finished, we found ourselves back home surrounded by family and friends that would welcome our baby girl.
On August 2nd, 2016, I gave birth to a perfect 6 lb 8 oz baby girl, Marlowe Eloise. And our lives have been forever changed for the better!
That's us in a nutshell! Just doing this thing called life the best we can, while being intentional about loving each other and trying to set an example for our daughter:)
